The DC arc extinguishing mechanism uses magnetic blowout technology to safely interrupt DC fault currents without the zero-crossing advantage of AC circuits. This is critical in PV applications where sustained DC arcs can damage equipment and pose fire risks. The breaker is non-polarized, accepting DC current flow in either direction, which supports both grounded and ungrounded PV array configurations.
